Simon.pl - a little different Base Coiler
Hi All!
As I’m totally crazy about my Disco I’d like to show you my on-going project.
Bought it at the beginning of December 2010. This is November 2006 Base Coiler in Tonga Green.
Originally looked like this (there were standard tires so had to be changed for BF Goodrich AT).

Ground clearance wasn’t big enough and also considering future winch and protection plate installation I’ve decided to buy Australian Suspension – Lovells Gas Legend Kit that gave 2†lift to the car and stiffer springs – class B (+100kg).

Replacement took around six hours. Rear coils and springs are piece of cake. With the front ones there was a pain as you need to have proper turnbuckles for the springs. I had only standard ones and needed to use three of them for one spring! You wouldn’t like to see the spring jumping all around or hitting you in the face… But it was worth of the pain.
Performance and handling is just awesome!
Lovells coils are longer than standard ones.

Here you can see the difference.

When suspension was ready to hold the load I’ve decided to install the winch. Wasn’t really difficult (except one screw sitting in a place where it is hard to get )! Again – whole operation took around 8 hours. If you plan to mount the A-Bar later, don’t forget to place the mountings while your bumper is on the ground. I have forgotten to do this and had to disassemble everything once again
This is final effect – you can find more pics in my gallery.

As from the very beginning I wasn’t happy because of the color, and also after finding some scratches on the paint coming back from one of the OffRoad trips I’ve decided to change the look of the Disco and protect the paint with the foil. Was considering many color options but finally decided to pick up one of the first ideas. Yellow and Black looks just great! Hope you like It too

Couple days later there were some gadgets installed – lamp guards, A-Bar and Driving lamps

I know I am addicted to this car so further modifications on the way!
Thanks for looking!
