Air connections

I bought a new front valve block for my D3 thinking it may help my sinking front end. But not sure how the connectors work. Can anyone help please..

I'm guessing the white plastic piece could be just for package ?

My guess is I cut my current connectors off, put the union + end bit (don't know what it's called Embarassed ) on - thread in and tighten up.

But it is a guess, and I could be completely wrong Whistle

Dump the white plugs and just screw your existing pipes into the valve block if you're happy there connections and olives are good!

Otherwise trim the pipe and refit the new brass cap and olive. Thumbs Up

Those parts are Voss air connectors.
They contain an internal O ring which provides the seal to the pipe. The olive grips the pipe and the 2nd visible O ring seals the connector to the valve block. The white plastic part is indeed for transit. Sometimes there is a plastic spacer between the olive and the internal O ring, which compresses the O ring.

If you want to use the new connectors fit them loosely to the valve block, insert the pipe and tighten. You could cut off the old connectors or open the split olive with a screwdriver. The olive may well break. As suggested, trimming the pipe, (cut square), will allow the O ring and olive to bear on unmarked surfaces.
Personally I would probably use the existing connectors unless they were suspect. If you do not use the new connectors do not discard them. They are £16 each.

Perhaps to be clearer. Your options are:
To remove your old connectors, trim the pipes, loosen new connectors, remove white plastic plugs and insert pipes before tightening the connectors, to get the olives to grip. Note; if you use the connector that you have removed, the olive has to be fitted in the correct direction.
Alteratively; Remove new connectors and store, reinstall pipes with old connectors, without dismantling.

Nige, pretty sure you can replace the external o-ring no problem. But in my experience it’s the interior o-ring that gets fouled after installing/removing the Voss connector multiple times, and the interior one is not replaceable.
