| TURBOCHIP GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH |
|
SPECIALIST AUTOSPORT SERVICES LTD (SAS Ltd) is the SOLE approved Distributor for TURBOCHIP products in the UK.
Turbochip in the UK is further expanding its dealer network and has many new developments coming for Land Rover and many other brands in the market. These developments are in all the market sectors which Turbochip is active in.
We believe we have one of the (if not the) best range of performance tunes for Land Rover available in the market. This is justified by customer testimonials, which we have received, and our track record - we have done over 450 TDV6 Land Rovers alone this year to date, with no problems. We have also backed up our customers 100% through the LR enhancement program, at no extra cost to the customer.
Forum members who are thinking of tuning their cars need to consider a number of factors when looking at the choice of tuning companies.
1. Company reputation.
2. Is there a test vehicle available?
3. What back up is offered.
4 Does the company have a dealer network?
5. Is the company easily contactable at their head office (not just an answering service or machine).
6. Can you visit the Head office to meet the management and staff?
7. Is the company registered and legitimate?
8. Does the company have a web site, where you can see what other products they offer in the tuning market?
9. Does the company develop and write their software and files?
If the answer is yes to all or most of these, you are on the right track!
At Turbochip we can answer YES to all of the above; we are happy to answer any
Questions and are proud of our reputation.
Turbochip in the UK will continue to support Martin on the RR Sport and Disco 3 Forums and
will endeavour to be more active on the forums. We are busy people so please be patient
but we will come back to you with answers to all questions and enquiries, if we can.

Can you honestly say that fuel consumption won't increase? It is the one thing that puts me off. 2008 Defender 110 XS CSW

If you had petrol Id say yes thats true, but from my understanding the increases in power for deisel engines is actually made by decreasing the amount of fuel injected which increases the ratio of air to fuel which increases the power. strange I know but Im fairly sure this is what basically happens...I know its far more complex than that, but fundementally this is how you end up getting better performance and use less fuel. 2004 TDV6 HSE Auto Zambezi Silver

It's all to do with increasing torque at lower rpm which effectively means the gearbox can 'move up' the gear ratios earlier and overall engine operating rpm will be lower and this equates to lower fuel consumption.

Andy,
One of the first things I did was map my own RRS as a demo.
I always leave the avg fuel reading alone on the display and let it accumulate for overall consumption.
Originally it was 22.3mpg and after a month it rose to 25.7mpg.
I'm not an economy driver, far from it but the performance increase meant I found myself just setting the throttle and letting the torque do the work.
If you want to try my vehicle then I'm not far from you. Give me a ring.

I am interested in getting my Disco "enhanced" but hearing about smoking engines after chipping is somewhat worrying,
I noticed BarryG asked the question about smoking back in october but no reply or explanation seams to have been given, this makes me wonder if chipping is worth the worry of your £30k+ motor going bang?

I had my TD5 D2 re-mapped and whilst it did improve performance a lot, it kicked out a lot of black smoke under hard acceleration and MPG suffered. Like the other 'posters' I would like to know about the increased smoke before spending money. 2008 Defender 110 XS CSW

I had mine remapped by Turbochip
More power, more torque, better fuel consumption, but no smoke. I had the enhancement programme applied at the last service which over wrote turbochip. Turbochip were great and met me two days later to reapply it FOC. Although the standard car is good a TC car is even better.
At the end of the day I guess its down to personal opinion and preference. Duncan

Booked in with Alistair on Wednesday - looking forward to it. I will let you know how it goes - but I think it is generally accepted as a big plus with no downsides?
Looking forward to skinning those Mondeos and the occasional RRS

My dealer told me I will lose all warranty in case of chip tuning of my Disco - this seems quite a downside to me, in view of the vast amount of electronics and pneumatics in this (splendid) car.
I'm afraid I will need the warranty more than the tuning.
Is this different in the UK ? Can you keep your warranty ?
