Having had a passenger footwell that was very wet and squelchy after heavy rain, I started to investigate the rubber / neoprene seal that runs along the bottom of the windscreen. It is quite broad and disappears under the rear of the bonnet.
It appears close fitting on the driver's side so that water cannot run down the windscreen and under the seal, but on the other side there is a small gap which looks as though the seal has been stretched very slightly and may let water in.
My question is,does anyone know whether water can get into the car via this route and if so what adhesive could be used to stick the rubber to the windscreen.The usual silicone,mastic etc doesn't seem to adhere to the rubber very well.
It's too hot the pm to do very much other than quaff beer etc, but any advice would be appreciated.
Thre have been quite a fw posts on here about wet carpets. I think the two main causes are blocked sun roof drain tubes (if you have a sun roof) or a tube from the air con.
Has the windscreen been replaced recently?
Do a search - it's been discussed a lot.Too much intellectual firepower can damage your common sense.
When cleaning mine yesterday I noticed a 3mm gap between the glass and the rubber seal at the top of that piece of plastic, and water flows through the gap and down the screen underneath it. I get no leaks however, and I don't believe that's intended to be a watertight seal.Previously:

The aircon pipe is OK if it is the one that I think it is.It is on the nearside of the console and I got to it by removing the side carpet.It is a black rubber flexible hose connected to a metal pipe and it exits towards the gearbox?
I have a sunroof so will check the drain tubes.
The windscreen has not been replaced recently.
Reassured that the seal is not meant to be water tight.
Excellent,I have cleared nearside one and blown several mouthfuls of water through it

With the last few days of very hot weather the air con/climate control's been working overtime but I've yet to see the expected small pool of water under the motor after I've parked it up.
Where can I find the air con drain tube's (assuming it/they exist) and how can I unblock it/them if blocked?

None of the seals you can see on the windscreen are
designed to keep water out, they are purely cosmetic.
The windscreen is bonded to a bed of urethane that
is laid on the body of the car underneath the edges of the screenPete

I also noticed that there was no condensation from the aircon on my car,
I have honestly never seen it drip anything from underneath in the 3.5 years I have owned it. My carpets are dry, and the aircon works well, so I can only presume that the D3 drains the water onto something that either evaporates it or disperses it by some other means.
My Wife's Mini leaves A/C puddles all the time when its warm.

I had this same problem after a windscreen change where the passenger side seal had lifted and the passenger side footwell was soaking wet after heavy rain.
I hadn't noticed the seal when it first went in to be looked at and the air con drain tubes were checked and was told they were fine. They wanted the car back the following week to do more checks, but I noticed the seal over the weekend which the dealer changed under warranty and the problem went disappeared
The water was dripping in to the car below the A pillar and via a small slit in the dash board housing underneath the glove box.The surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us yet.
I hope that I have found the problem as both the front drain tubes seemed blocked,or at least slow running.I filled a sink plunger with water and blasted them through.
They now appear to be clear.
When I filled the channel around the nearside of the sunroof to test it,water leaked out where the rubber tube connected to the plastic tube of the sunroof.It was only a slight drip and a cable tie sorted it out.
Thanks for your help and I will monitor the seal issue when it rains again which will probably be tonight!

I had this last year after the screen was changed. Turned out that if the clips are broken or missing then the fit of the rubber is not tight enough and water, if raining heavy enough, will run below the rubber and drip in past the air intake. I noticed this after I went to change the pollen filter and it was water stained. I could not find the clips I needed, and as the rubber had been stretched by less than careful removal, I asked for the price to replace from Landrover. Turned out it was about £30.00, surprised me but nicely for a change. No more wet passenger floor either.
