Ditto. Put me down for 5 plugs if this gets off the ground. I may be in for more at a later date 8)

Just followed this thread, and the others liked to it, to help connect the 3.5mm "DVD Out" on the DVDs we use on the rear head rests to the Sat Nav. Found it very easy to do (thanks to all who have posted), plus found a good source of the smb connectors:
They were only £1.48 and postage was 95p. Also arrived next day. There is though a £5.00 minimum, so I bought 2 connectors (very useful as messed up first attempt and was glad of a spare) plus some RG174 cable.
This is actually a wifi extension cable (what you would use to extend the reach of the aerial on the back of a wireless hub), but the cable is RG174 and for 2m I found it the cheapest option.
Now got this all set up, kids can watch their DVDs in the back and passenger can also watch at the same time in the front. Will make driving through France in the summer a whole lot more peacefull

HELP!!
Can anyone help me please, I have bought some cable and the clamp type connectors but can't work out how the clamp works. I have found some technical info on them but everytime I screw in the nut, the wire just comes out!
Whilst this thread has been bumped up again, has anyone got any spare connectors for the sat nav unit these could sell me

I'm going to ask a really stupid question - are these on the back of the SatNav unit or the display unit behind the dash h-section? I've had my first nosey around under the passenger seat and didn't see what I expect to see (apart from a 2007/2008 NAV DVD)Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

If anyone is still looking for the Fakra connectors you can get them off the dodgy sounding qualitychinagoods_com on ebay for $1.80 each. I've just ordered a few neutral coded male and female onesThe End

A, B , C , D , E, G, K ...so you will be able to fit it to only one connector on the back of the screen ..the green one
connector I and F ( brown and tan on sat nav screen ) will have different locating pinsG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

I can't believe I've not seen this post before. Now forgive my dumb question but it's not clear to me and I'm sure you electrical whizz kids can help me out. You have a connector on the back of the display for other inputs - I understand that. You have found somewhere where you can buy connectors for the inputs - I understand that. The connectors use CoAx cable - I understand that.
What I don't understand is how I get my phono or 3.5mm AV outputs on my DVD player etc. to link into the the CoAx cables. I'm sure this is easy, can anyone suggest any parts etc?
My DVD player (in car not Nav) outputs via a 3.5mm socket, the plug that goes in is obviously an AV 3.5mm rather than a audio 3.5mm. I know it is possible to split a 3.5mm audio socket for sharing head phones etc. Is it possible to do the same with a 3.5mm AV socket? I am looking to do the same as others and have the option to take a feed from the DVD player and play it though the front screen. I am also interesting in putting the carputer through it, but I suspect the quality won't be up to much.
Thanks in advance - sorry for what is probably a couple of dumb questions.D3 HSE MY05 Auto

Easiest and quickest would be get yourself one of these
and connect your coax cable to it and the other end to one of the sat nav SMB connectors .
Thats a pretty popular connector ...if its not what you want , you can get all manor of adaptor leads to suit your equiptment.
I have one of them left loose in the top glove box , that way i can connect a camera / video camera / iphone AV lead ...pretty much anything into it whenever i needG4 Gone ...but not forgotten
