| Interesting Facts Found on the Event |
|
Here are some facts that we found out on the trip. Please note that we did not actually do any of this we were told about it.
The front and rear PDC sensors do not work at 90mph
An auto box can be put into reverse doing 50mph and still survive.
The D3 has yet another higher suspension setting.
The D3 does not like fluffy soft sand.
Wings do not automatically spring out of the sills to provide extra lift when flying over the top of dunes whilst posing for cool “Lets Get Some Air” pictures.
Some sand dunes are as hard as concrete.
I’m sure more interesting facts will appear over the next few days For use of a 4x4 site and driver training pm me

Reading between the lines, and considering that You did not try any of these discoveries, one must assume that it happend to the Despo's.
No wonder they are quiet. Did they get back with all the vehicles? Silver TDV6 HSE

Yes all back this evening except for Ray (RLD) and his Mat, who they left in the gutter in some Spanish village with a broken clutch (Def. 130). He can't get home until he has raised enough money for a new one . When he rang me this evening he was crying and every so often I could hear him ask passers-by " could you spare some change Por Favor" in a broad northern accent.
I didn't see any of the guys when they came to the gaff because I was expecting them on Saturday night and had arranged to go out for dinner this evening. Anyway, Martin's mini and Dom's D3 have gone so I assume they got here ok.....or the motors have been nicked Powered by............................
.
I've been accused of vulgarity. I say that's bullshit.

Just for the record we all travelled together tested the vehicles together camped together and quite often stooped for beer together during the stages and in fact assisted each other when required. All though we were competing teams there was certinally no 'us and them' For use of a 4x4 site and driver training pm me

What you need to do is drive a 110 into a rocky river bed, bend and break the rear prop shaft, remove the rear prop shaft, recover the 110 using a D3 with a winch. Then proceed to the next check point with a front wheel drive 110 and D3. At this point you will find the check point is located in a position that requires 4x4 as the 110 only had 2x4 we towed the 110 to the check point across a river bed and up on to the river bank the other side. It was during this manoeuvre that caused the D3 to lift its self to this impressive height. I would imagine that the extreme articulation the D3 was having to deal with along with towing another vehicle caused the D3 to raise.
We have noticed that the D3 will also raise whilst winching another vehicle. For use of a 4x4 site and driver training pm me

Should have taken a butler with you, then you wouldn't have needed to bend down to get your beer Contains sulphites

Yeah I can confirm that, I think the organisers, marshalls and other teams will not forget the momentous contribution both our teams made to the event, not only the sandboarding demonstration but also the fact that the disco3.co.uk bar was always open. We all had a cracking trip. I've done it!
