Just bought D3, I love it....wife hates it........help!!
So I have bought a D3 as we have baby number 3 on the way and need more space, plus it's a great excuse to finally get my hands on a land rover! However the wife says she hates it and won't drive it .
Her main issues are down to the relative size of the wagon compared to her, ie when the boot is open she can't reach to close it, and when you open the tailgate she then can't reach anything inside it! The kids struggle to get in without help (so side steps have been fitted) she also doesn't like the drive due to body roll and performance. She does a lot of town driving which I guess is not ideal, but I think it would be great when we have the baby when we all go out together, I just can't get her to see this
Has anyone else been in this situation and if so what do I do? I think she will eventually get used to the drive but I can understand that it feels big to her. Has anyone fitted a strap to the boot for closing?
Any advice gratefully received as I love this car! Cheers

SWMBO once told me she'd divorce me of I bought another LR. Six months later I bought her one but she refused to keep her promise.

Loving the footwear, but suspect she would just use them to beat me round the head. I have tried bribery but that did not work, and divorce would be expensive......I won't rule it out however!

You have lowered the suspension for her to get in /out and reaching in the boot? Makes a big difference. Body roll when driving in town ............ Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Problem is she does not appreciate what a machine it is, maybe a bit of snow would help......take the wagon or walk!
Reason for the d3 ove an mpv (I know......a big no no!) was that she thinks the roads are full of other women who can't drive in big people carriers full of screaming kids. I actually thought she would appreciate the driving position and the spec......she's like 'I can't reach anything...' and I'm like ' but it's got heated seats!!'
Also I have not sold her old BMW yet so she keeps taking that instead.......
You can buy a slide out thingy for the boot, but I've always managed by just flipping down one of the middle row seats to reach anything pushed to the rear of the boot.
I've never had a problem reaching the tailgate to close it. (Is she using the hand grip on the underside?) Can she still not reach if in access height?
The shoes would be an option... and probably cheaper than the divorce. As you slide down the banister of life

I have played with the suspension in the multi storey but not on the drive....good call. Body roll.......tough I guess
I suppose if I brought up the subject of divorce the d3 issue could just fade into the background and eventually go away!
Maybe a burst of bad weather will change her opinion.
Take her on an 'experience day' (Christmas present ) then she will know how to use the bells and whistles. As you slide down the banister of life

AVE - need to use the access height more at home, it's made worse because we have a really steep drive and you are always standing lower than the wheels. We have a 4 yr old and a 2 yr old so big child seats in the back make access to boot from that way a bit impossible!
