which carrier have you got ?- there are loads of them on the thule site. I cant find one that I can use with or without a trailer attached  Duncan

could do with finding one that can fit on TB when caravan is attached though

is anyone using a Thule carrier that allows the tailgate to drop fully (if so, which model)- I might may to get something else for when I tow the trailer/caravan Duncan

I don't know about the Thule racks but I bought an Altera Strada 3 after multiple reccomendations on the forum. It slides out and down to clear the lower tailgate by quite a way giving full access to stand behind the rack.

Not cheap but a very good piece of kit

can use it on car normally and when towing Sankey.
I'll have to get a maxxraxx or something for when towing the caravan as cant seem to get one that can be used for both with integral light board Duncan

Duncan,
I have a Thule one that fits on the towbar. Yes it drops down so you can open the top and lower part of the tailgate. Pop up and try it if you want.
