Bumper respray needed thanks to someone who can't drive
Nipped into B & Q yesterday for a lightbulb for the house. Turned out to be a very expensive one! Some scroat had hit the front bumber, the painted section below the radiator and scraped the paint off and cracked the paint on the horizontal part just below the rad grill
Of course, nobody around who saw anything and no note on the windscreen to appologise, just did a runner! Trying to decide now whether to lose my NCB on insurance or just pay for a new one and have it sprayed. I may get away with a respray of the existing one, but I think it looks a little distorted to me.
Absolutely furious of South Wales!!!
Sorry just had to get the rant off my chest!

Not that I noticed, but worth going back today to ask B & Q. Can you use that if it happened on a car park and not on the public highway? I always thought that you could not insist on claiming from their insurance if it was 'off road' as it were.

Even if it is deformed you may be able to get it repaired, here is a photo of my Nissan Pathfinder after a coming together with a dear, the local bodyshop heated it up and remoulded it into shape then painted it and you couldn't tell it had been repaired. Cost me £200+VAT as far as I remember.

Report it emediatly to the police, they have the power to retrieve and view video footage, particularly as you have an exact time of when it happened, happened to me and the offender (myself) was arrested 3 days latter for criminal damage, cost me £1250 for a scratch on a bumper you had to get on your knees to see on a 12 year old Volvo . Claimed a complete new bumper. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

If you can't see the cctv..Or not available
get a quote from a smart repair guy and weigh up this against the excess and potential loss of no claims..
Smart repair... £50-100
Excess... £250 +
Only you can decideIf it ain't broke... Take it apart anyway, how else you gonna find out how it works

Also worth trying a couple of body shops.
I was quoted £200 by a smart repairer to respray a bumped and a local body shop did it for £120 and did an excellent job. Just make sure they know it's not an insurance job and you might be pleasantly surprised by the price.
Might be cheaper just to fit one of these things:-
