I think this thread demonstrates there is a general lack of respect for other peoples property.
People just don't give a toss about anyone these days full stop. 90% of the great British public are too thick to even realise they're like it. I don't believe there's too much jealousy, I truly believe the Jeremy Kyle culture we have created is full of divs.Welcome "Lola"

I have to agree. Just check out the disabled section of the car park at your local ASDA or TESCO. It's astounding how many "disabled" drivers have Subaru Imprezas or Corsas with slammed suspension and tinted windows and we must have the highest proportion of disabled delivery van drivers in Scotland!
People really don't care about rules, property or even common courtesy these days. The best defence is to avoid situations where your car can be damaged. Usually the far corner of the car park works as most slobs are too lazy to walk, and raising the ride height is definitely not a bad idea. Personally I look for spaces next to cars with new or recent registration numbers. So far, so good!

People don't care anymore.
Car's are now white goods that can be disposed of easily and gained under cheap finance so why look after them?
I park in spaces out the road, i leave it in off road height and had side steps as well.
A PO of my car has mounted the black side rubbing strips about 6-8 inches higher than LR would fit them. Right at the most vulnerable park of the door skin.
Have had people throw their doors into my car while i'm in it. I've yet to gain anything worse than a few small marks in the rubbing strips and a few dings in the side steps..
I don't park over white lines as that's just inviting someone to key the paintwork.

If only
I feel like doing that every time someone comes toward me with their "fashion statement" fog-lights on, invariably pointed skywards, or grossly misaligned headlights
