Re-painting alloys - any tips

I've bought a cheap set of alloys as the finish has blistered in places so I'm going to rub them down and re-paint them. Not expecting a perfect finish but any tips to stop the paint just peeling off once the tyres get fitted?

Was planning to;

1. Sand them down all over by hand
2. Spray with grey primer
3. Spray with Halfords silver wheel paint
4. Spray with lacquer

Any other tips??

Hi, If your going to sand them as indicated!! I think i would go for a coat of Etch Primer before the Gray stuff.
Hope it goes well, Post some pics. Thumbs Up

Never thought about powder coating, for that price yes, would be a great idea. Now to find a place locally..........
