Amazingly, Goodyear still doesn't offer the MT/R's here as of yet, but they keep saying that they will eventually get here.

Nice pictures...i have two questions...

1) This impresive "super extended mode"....Who supplies that?...Maertz?...can anyone explain supplier and cost?

2) Which were the recomended set of rims-tyres (brand and sizes) for an expedition like that?..or the most used by you.....

Thanks.

Super extended mode is a standard feature, however you can't put the D3 into it using the buttons - it automatically occurs if the vehicle gets beached. This is something Slimer did fairly spectacularly in the sand dunes Smile

Martin..

1) I can imagine what "beached" means but ....how do the system recognize this situation?

2) What about prefered-recomended set of rims-tyres?

3) Which have been the major problems with te DISCOS in this adventure?. Any problem whith EAS.

Thanks
 Nacho

If the system detects all wheels turning but no forward motion, it will lift itself up to Extended mode. Once there, you can hold your Air UP level and push on the Brake pedal and it will go to Air WAY UP mode Smile

Another way to trigger this is to go into off road mode, put a block of wood or something under the frame and try to lower the suspension. The system will recognize the obstruction and raise up into Extended mode. If memory serves:

Off Road mode: +55mm
Extended mode: +35mm (= 90mm above normal)
Super extended mode: +50mm (= 140mm above normal)

But I could be off on that - I drive a springer

Nearly Wink If all wheels are turning, how can the system detect no forward motion without another point of contact with the ground?
The criteria for extended height are:
TC in operation
Reduced air suspension gallery pressure (by virtue of the suspension not supporting the full weight of the vehicle)
