Spare wheel stolen help fitting winch

I am wondering if anyone can help. I have just notice that some Censored has stolen the spare wheel on my disco 3 by cutting the cable. Evil or Very Mad

I have had a quote to fix the winch with a steeler and its frighteningly expensive. Has anyone fitted one of the spare wheel winches? Is it just undoing four bolts and bolting in a replacement winch ?

Any help or a description of how to fit the winch would be gratefully received Thumbs Up

Get a D4 winch from TLO (Nick) (even if you have a D3), and fit it yourself. It takes about 15 mins.

And make sure you don't put your new spare back on until you have the spare wheel protector from Uncle Ray (RLD) or the pikeys will just nick your new one Thumbs Up

total quote to get everthing sorted was just under £ 900. but i think i am going to go with a steel space saver spare as they dont seem to want to pinch those

Don't bet on them not nicking the space saver, if you did it yourself you could do it for a fraction of £900, winch is about £70, I think Ray's protector is approx £70 and you could probably pick up a good wheel and tyre from here for less than £100 Thumbs Up

Unbelievable !

Get the winch etc from TLO & fit it youself
Get a spare wheel from someone here
Get a spare wheel protector from RLD

Total costs nowhere near £900.

Please report back on final cost.
