Lee I sympathise with you I felt the same until just recently.
My suspension woes are fixed and it was all down to a dodgy connection in the multiplug to the suspension ECU. I'm sure as BN and Winger have posted recently that this type of fault is whats causing most of the suspension woes. Mine is proof, and I'm now utterly convinced, having previously been seriously p  ssed with my car.
But having driven so many different courtesy cars as to forget what a D3 was like (when working properly). I really don't want anything else.
Call me sad, but now it's doing what is said on the tin, I feel as happy as a Pig in sh t again

There is a connector near the rear nearside wheel that could be your nightmare. Get the dealer to get it in and sort it properly. Do not be fobbed off. If they tell you a silly story, call your regional CS manager, not the person on the end of the phone. Insist on an EPQR as well as dealers hate to fill them in. Get the number or a copy of it.
Don,t let the dealer tell you what to do, you have paid a lot of money for a lot of car, not them. Remember your dealer is often not even able to afford the spare wheel off your car and goes home in a Ford Escort. You are the customer, not them.

Confronted with a string of suspension related warning lights ( including faulty hand brake and failed speedometer ) I set off to my nearest dealer in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. It's only 700 km.
They have a guessed diagnosis of a fault in the wiring loom and advise me to go on to the agent in Accra another 900 km further down the road.
If I start to have your repeated problems - did I read TEN compressors? - the car will do its 100 000 km just on the runs to and from the dealer.
SO I'm really counting on a constructive attitude from LR to my plight, and hope that I do not have a booby. It would be nice were LR to make inroads back into the dominant position of Landcruisers in this part of the world.

well - you guessed it
i have the suspension fault light come up while driving and drove straight to the dealer. they first thought it was a switch, when then they told me it was the compressor. so my compressor was replaced from a new vehicle (which had a newer part number).
1 week later - suspension failure and park brake error.
car is now back in service being diagnosed ..... and hopefully repaired.
called LR Aus and put in a complaint and they are now overlooking my repairs.
but when will this ever end - i've been going back and forth with leaks in the rear roof (which have been fixed) and now this .... 
i look around to see what other 4wd i should've bought, but still can't get myself to buy another brand 4wd ..... 
well, here's hoping it gets fixed this time and no more trips (other than the regular service) 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE (Apr '05 Build)

1800 trouble free milles, then I decide to jet wash under the wheel arches. Next thing, PONG - suspension fault warning, car defaults to off road ride height.
Off to dealarship, yes they change the compressor, and a software upgrade. Three day repair, on way home, PONG - suspension fault on again.
Back to dealer, they havent got a clue, I. expect the compressor will have to come out again.
Whats the betting Ive disturbed a ride height sensor with the jet wash ???
Thought the car had a 2 foot wading capability. Wished id bought a series 1 Landie, least they can go in water.

I think that there have been issues with water getting into a connector block behind one of the wheel arches, I think 10forcash had this problem I am sure he will pass on info soon.

Oh Dear, I've just discovered the DISCO3 site and a whole catalogue of similar failures to those I have experienced with my May 2005 TDV6 HSE.
Suspension height failure three times in nine months.
At Motorway speeds the loss of suspension is alarming and frightening as the computer tries to re-adjust the settings at 70mph !
Most recent failure required Compressor, Wiring Loom and Sensors to be replaced taking 10 days (including waiting for Landrover warranty approvals!)
All I can add to other postings is that my Taunton dealer blames "corrosion" that occurs in the sensor/wiring connections and there might be a Landrover re-design and product recall when they sort it out.
Anyone discussed replacing their vehicle as unroadworthy with their dealer?

Yup been there got the T-shirt. 
You'll end up paying for the mileage as there have been too many of us in this boat for LR to swallow. Plus you will need to be poilite persistent, and very patient for LR to come to the party.

sorry must have missed this one  there's a blue connector behind the left front wheelarch liner that requires replacement, there is a TSB relating to it and a repair kit. there are other, seemingly unrelated issues that can provoke a 'suspension error' although this is usually the symptom, not the cause. i'll collate the info available to me next week and post all possible causes and effects  for Freelander 2 Diesel, Discovery 3 / RR Sport TDV6 & RR Sport TDV8, Defender (TD5 & Puma) - available Now!

Mine has had sensors replaced and water proofed coverings(?) replaced

Hi Chaps, I have had my TDV6 Land Rover Discovery for 8 months now without any problems whatsoever. But then two days ago I noticed the amber suspension warning light come on and stay on. Its going to the dealership tomorrow to be looked at. My main worry is that having previously had a land rover discovery prior to my new one which cost me a fortune in ongoing repairs to the suspension/compressor, I am going to yet again have the same problems on my new one and buying a car for £27,500 you expect it to last a little longer than it has. So may I ask a question of you more experienced land rover owners who are experiencing this same fault. At present my car is under warranty but in November I will have had it for a year in which case I will have to start paying for them to repair any faults, but if this fault is going to be a continuous issue and require constant attention, is there any way that I can ensure that I dont have to pay for constant repairs due to the same fault in the event that it continues to be a problem. My previous land rover cost me just over £2,700 in the space of a year for continuous compression and suspension fault repairs, I then decided to stop paying out extortionate costs and buy a new one, but hey presto - I have the same problem as before and now I am really fed up. I would be most grateful for some advice. Best wishes. Very fed up Land Rover Discovery driver.....

Warranty on the Discovery 3 is 3 years unlimited mileage. Don't panic yet, get it enhanced at your dealer. Silver TDV6 HSE
