D4 stuttering poll - have you suffered
Since the new year I have suffered four occasions when the car started stuttering. It feels like either removing the foot quickly from the throttle or jabbing at the brakes. The fuel consumption also takes a big dip going by the indication on the dash. I have had no warning lights or messages. Once the car is stopped and restarted the problem goes away. It seems to occur every two weeks or so.
My first occasion I called LRA and there were no fault codes and we went for a lengthy test drive and all was fine.
A couple of weeks later it happened again. This time there were low voltage fault codes, but this turned out to be because the positive from the battery was loose.
A couple of weeks later, same again, only fault codes were for front indicators, brake pedal switch wouldn't adjust and was replaced.
A couple of weeks later, it started again and was ok after a restart.
Anyone got any thoughts on what this may be, would a software reload be a thought?
How many are suffering this, I know of one other, Squibes, are there any others?
If you can add MY and any other details in a reply

That's interesting, although this happens at all speeds from motorway limits to slow in town driving. Worth pointing out to them though.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Not sure if exactly the same but over the past two weeks I have noticed a stutter. It is like an interruption in the fuel but only for a second then it's normal.
Happened in town driving and on an A road.
2012 build date March 2012, just under 10k miles.

For me, once it starts, it carries on every few seconds until you switch it off and let it sleep. I believe Squibes is the same as well, he has suffered 7 times now.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

100% exactly what I get but doesn't need to be that fast (though was worst at that speed on the autoroute in France last week). The symptoms are less but still there at lower speeds.
MY12 built Dec 2012. It started in the new year as well. Spooky.
Just to add the fuel did drop, as I was in France I had it set to l/100km and usually when coasting it drops to zero but at this time it went down to about 2l/100km.

Happened a few times for me, if I remember there were a couple of very slightly loose connections round the battery and the battery was defective from new. Nothing conclusive but never happened again after four or five occurencesJoined the BMWX5 45e group
