I wouldn't use anything but the finest soft toilet paper on my tender behind. Using a credit card is really hardcore!

Petrol, I use it to remove the tar and never had an issue, just wach off the petrol after and give it a bit of polish after in the area.

Autoglym tar remover is my first choice, but petrol works if you are in a bind but (clearly) rather flammable.

Edit: as above, must type faster!

They definitely did not want the plate falling off Shocked

Normally, I just use a pressure washer at a safe distance to blast off the foam layer of the stickers, a bit of autoglym tar remover to get rid of the sticky residue and finally a polish with autoglym super resin polish. The problem there is the amount of holes.

Warm it up with a Hair Dryer and remove with a plastic scraper, any residue remaining a bit of WD40.
