Restore of Discovery lettering
Guys
Got a Discovery 3. How can I restore the lettering on bonnet and also back as it was a black and now over years faded to a speckled grey. Any ideas ?
I know I can buy lettering off eBay etc but its quite costly ????

The lettering on your bonnet wouldn't have been black as standard oem.
Black lettering has only been offered by LR within the last year.
Someone would've changed or sprayed them.

You won't be RETURNING it to black as it never was black in the first place, the speckled grey you speak of is the colour of the lettering. Maybe they are a bit worn looking, you can buy brand new from land rover in black if its black you want.

Ok so I'm guess you used a fine brush. What paint did you use and did you paint while the actual lettering still attached to car body ?

Not as tricky as it sounds as lettering is raised, just don't overload the brush with too much paint. Good luck
