Fitted mine on Saturday. Thought about attempting it on the driveway, but I wanted to update the engine + gearbox software at the same time, so off to work with it.
1st issue was a seized bolt in the gearbox crossmember, which rounded when I tried to take it out.
Onto a bolt extractor, which broke the 1/2"-3/8" step down.
Out with the gas bottles, had the tube glowing red hot which eventually got it moving
Old downpipe came off no bother, split on the floor. Refitted the de-cat, then rest of the system
All in all, took me an hour and a half
It does growl much more now, until the turbo kicks in, which is 8)
I don't know how much it can be attributed to the de-cat alone, but after fitting, and doing the software updates, on the journey home, the car was reading 33mpg @ 65mph ish, up from 28mpg My D3 Build Thread

Just goes to show how much easier these things are with a 4 poster Mark.

The wine said no!
It is a marked improvement, far more responsive and crisp, not a huge change in noise. Well worth while though. Nice to have the full set of BAS, Intercooler, EGR and now De cat

I have to say the more I drive it with the de cat the more I like it - just seems happier, more responsive and I do like the now more prominent turbo whistle.

Is there enough interest to re-run this Group buy?
I have the fast road intercooler already - it's well worth the expense if anyones thinking about it

Will I need different shaped pipes?
My oe seems to have been zapped with a jet wash so a lot of fins are flat...
I must resist

Interestingly some of the words are very similar to the ones on the Allisport website.
I'm very happy with my Offroad Allisport IC Mark.

What is the difference between the fast road and off road intercoolers, apart from £133.00 I'm not as good as I once was........but I'm as good once as I ever was.
