Thought id better update this one year on!
Replaced some of the arms
ARB bushes
steering tie rod ends
New alternator
new battery.
4 wheel alignment a few times.
gearbox flush and new sump filter.
Now it finally drives straight and shifts smoothly!
Just the 207k service to go as its now done 180k from 160k.
May treat it to a set of new tyres as well.
Current issues are the radio wont regnogise cd's and also the front sun roof has stopped working all of a sudden! Could be from the dodgy battery issue.

Well its another two years on!
Still have it and now at 201k!
Just gone into garage for
stuck boot door
blocked sun roof drains
big oil leak
renewal of water and oil pumps just in case as i haven't done those in my ownership.
Terrain response switch not working.
error messages on start up.
new parking sensors,
new side door trim clips
4 wheel alignment.
So a big bill to come! but its been reliable for 2 years and its the first time its gone in apart from routine service so a happy owner here still pleased with the old girl
My wife uses it as her daily so I dont get to drive it much! I use my Defender 110 USW XS as my daily.
nice to drive it every once in a while as its pure luxury compared!
Still looks the same as the pics I posted up when it was first bought!

Nearly another year on and still only routine maintainance!
still loving the old girl although now thinking of retiring it to my parents holiday home in the canary Islands and replacing it with a D4 but its been so good Im in two minds to just give it a 2015 facelift!
I only have one issue with it,
When we boot it there is a long delay of a couple seconds before it actually takes off, what could be causing that? having said that the gearbox has been DR Tranny'ed couple years ago and it shudders when towing a 3500kg tri axle but fine when not towing, the AVG fuel MPG on the trip is quite poor at 18mpg so Im guessing its nearing gearbox rebuild time?

Have you cleaned the MAF sensor ? Pretty straight forward job and there is an uprated part as well .Split turbo hose or as you said could be gearbox / torque converter.
