United Kingdom 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Java Black

Picked up my second Discovery 3 today. So far so good!

The drive is so much better than the last. Has anyone with suspension problems had the dealer check the calibration. The first dealer I went to changed the compressor then one of the height sensor but the car still failed. It was after it went back to the dealer I purchased the car from they found the rear RHS suspension was higher than the rest and caused handling problems and suspension failure. This did seem to rectify the problems.

Scotland 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Cairns Blue

My TD SE has just spent two weeks in the dealership trying to resolve the suspension issues - looks like they have patched it. I reckon the car has been off-raod a total of 30 days since I have had it due to this issue. Fingers x'd fixed this time or the car goes back... Confused

Question regarding the suspsension survey

how can I get results of the survey, without filling one out? I'm currently not an owner but would love to get an LR3/D3, but I'm just doing research and don't want to taint the survey in anyway. I just need to see numbers on the different issue about the suspension. help? Thanks very much.

Aaarrghh!

After 3 weeks off the road (in the garage) the car came back with its suspension problems fixed by fitting new loom. 8 weeks later, bing, bong and down on the bump stops again. Car back in dealers with a long letter requesting complete change of vehicle to another manufacturer (luckily a big motor Group owns the LR dealer) or a refund.

So disappointed as the car is fantastic when working but I notice that in the general press it is now just starting to get a panning for poor reliability - just like every other LR before it!

Has the suspension system been changed? We had our first D3 replaced after 6000 miles because of a series of problems and less than exemplary dealer service. I have been very impressed with our second D3 until this weekend when I had it off-road for the first time. Nothing severe ( a Ford Escort would probably have managed) but in and out of a field in off road height and dropping to access to load and unload. 2 cycles of access to high and back again and I got the ominous boing of suspension fault. I was almost expecting it. My service manager tells me that the D3 no longer has an air tank and the compressor now does all the work and overheats. I await T4 diagnosis. This car's reliability concerns me; I cannot imagine taking it into Western Australian deserts when Scottish Tesco car parks keep humbling it. Fault cleared by the usual restart routine, but.......

Can I ask what is the usual restart routine is this something the owner can do or does this need to be done at the dealership.

Thought I would ask so I know what needs done if we get unlucky.

Suspension lean

My Disco3 has been listing on the nearside since I bought it new in March and has been back to the dealer three times in unsuccessful attempts to level it. I have just been told that Land Rover do know of this problem and are working on a fix. In the meantime I am picking it up again, still down approx 6cm on the nearside. I wondered if anyone else had had this problem and if so that they knew a fix is supposedly on the way.

I had this problem, but it was a long time ago when the car was new, and it was about 2 cms down on the left. This coincided with the three occurences of suspension errors that I had.

The lean could be confirmed by looking at the 4x4 display on the sat nav, it clearly showed the left side down at all heights except access.

I don't know what they did to fix it but it is level and error free now. Guy Salmon in Stockport fixed it over a year ago.
