Fairy lights without headlights
Hi all,
Just wondering whether it's possible to have fairly lights on as day running lights, without the main lights.
I read in one post it wasn't possible, but a picture of a Disco in the following post shows only the fairy lights on:

Err yes. If you want the fairies on just move the light switch one click clockwise. 2nd click brings on the mains.

Auto headlights is an great feature.
I remember once I came out of a pub after a single pint and drove off in my old Peugeot.
Because there were streetlights, I didn't notice that I forgot to turn my headlights on.
Policeman pulled me over a block later and breathalyzed me. I passed since I only had one pint, but I was a bit nervous.
That never would have happened with auto headlights.

In a word no. If you have the daytime running lights activated it will not use just the sidelights I believe there are 2 different setting for the DRL's either Canadian or Scandinavian
The Canadian setting means the lights (side & Dipped) are on when you put the car in gear and the Scandinavian setting means the lights are on when the ignition is turned on Cheers Ian

I'm afraid I'm of the opposite view.....I never have them on auto.....I am a fully evolved intelligent (well....semi) homo sapien.....I can tell when it gets dark
And while we're in the subject,I am also quite capable of deciding if its raining or not....normally due to what's happening on the windscreen in front of me.....
DRL's.....?.....ask a motorcyclist if he thinks everything on the road should have its lights on during the day
And my personal favourite "sorry mate I never saw you"........ Yup,why would you,it's 5 metres long,2 metres wide and weighs nearly 3 tonnes.....almost invisible unless you have your sidelights on.... "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

You should be able to get them activated to come on with the selector 'off'
How?
According to the handbook page 37 ,or are daytime running lights different to fairy lights?

Mine come on as side lights. I would like mine to come on when lights are on auto. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
