Adding TV functionality to RSE |
|
Guys,
Can anyone help me with this....
I've recently picked up my 2010 HSE which included RSE. Whilst this works great I would love to add a digital TV to this set-up, both for viewing in the front and rear screens. Does anyone know if this is possible and where I might get this done?
I've done a fair amount of research and all I've found so far is a couple of sites stating you can't add a digital TV to an RSE system and maintain of the standard features.
Appreciate any pointers....

Is it a factory fit system or aftermarket?

I believe it's factory fit. The paperword was explicit so not 100%

Do you have the option to turn the rear screens on & off etc from the front screen display?

Yes, you can switch them on and off, plus switch between DVD, av1 and av2.
It also has a remote control with it

That sounds like factory fit to me so I would have thought it was possible as you are halfway there.
I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will confirm but if you do a search you should find a couple of threads by people who have done similar projects.

I found numerous threads of people upgrading their analogue tuners to digital, also several threads of people adding DVD/TV set-ups for the front however yet to find a thread on anyone adding a digital tv tuner to a RSE system....
Has anyone else done this and got any recommendations?
Cheers

Thanks, I saw that one before, but different to my situation as I have most of that gubbins in place, just need the TV addition.
In fact what would be ideal is a pointer to someone/ a company who offers this service. I would rather pay a bit more and know its being fitted by someone who knows what they're doing......
Any suggestions???

Have you dropped mr wiggs a pm, he may be able to help?
I am going to be getting round to fitting the OEM hybrid tv tuner to my my 13 d4, but from what I can gather, the tv tuner is in a different place.
Do you have the amp under the drivers seat? d4 HSE in Corris Grey with Black options pack
D3 with the following
Alive Tuning EGR blanking kit
Alive Tuning Re-map
Alive Atrics console
Samco intercooler hoses (from Alive Tuning)
Alive Tuning De-Cat pipe, lovely tone!
Retrofit OEM Hybrid TV tuner
