Topping up your tyres at home

Can you get a nice 240v tyre compressor suitable for home use? (i.e. plugs into anormal UK socket)

A quick surf only reveals the normal 12v car ones or a full air compressor system I can then use for painting, nail gunning etc.

Not looking for one to install in the car.

Spotter (although 12v I dont see the need for a mains one it can be used everywhere) I brought a one for Halfords, certainly does the job but make sure the car is running!

think you need to get a full sized compressor and just get a tyre adapter for it Thumbs Up

This one from Dunc's link might do the trick for Mr Potter http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/...pressors-2

I still haven't sorted out a compressor for the workshop. Must blow the moths out of my wallet....

be sure what you are using it for. it you want the benefit of attaching a wrench of some description (NoDo$h.... I said WRENCH not WENCH Wink ) then make sure you have a large air cylinder. Ive got the Warrior 60 : http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/...pressors-2

i bought a smaller one but it couldnt maintain the pressure for the wrench so i traded up (the same day) for a bigger one

works great Thumbs Up

spotter, consider buying a decent one! you will soon be using it for all kinds of stuff:
cleaning your car carpets (more efficient to blow than to suction with a vacuum cleaner)
cleaning air filters of your mower
cleaning dusty engines etc
blowing dust from your facade
blowing dust from your car interior
 Some people get by
With a little understanding
Some people get by
With a whole lot more
I dont know
Why you gotta be so undemanding

good point also captain_sugar, that does tend to happen....a variety of new uses would no doubt be invented even if they weren't shown on the box Whistle

unfortunately while a £50 could just appear mysteriously a £300 would have to be explained Wink
