Torque converter replacement

Afternoon all,
i need to replace my torque converter, which i plan to buy from Bristol transmissions. is it as straight forward as fit it (change the oil) and i'm good to go or do i need to have the system flushed again?
anything i should be aware of?

irrc the quoted £700 to supply the TC
or £1250 plus vat to supply and fit

thanks

Consider a new filter while the box is out Thumbs Up

if you do it yourself, and have the gearbox out and open, it makes sense to change the connector housing and the little seals between mechatronic unit and gearbox as well. Dirt cheap parts. no benefit not changing them.

Changing the Filter has been mentioned. Consider conversion to steel sump pan with extra filter.

Refilling with old fluid also makes no sense to me.

I would stick a plastic sumo on it.

Less likely to leak.

Connect sleeve about £10.

Sometimes you can get kits on eBay with both in it
But it looks cheaper to buy seperatly.

PeteK I can see that cheap tin sumps may cause a bother leakage wise, but ZF’s own kit with gasket is a very solid thick sump and torqued evenly should not really be a problem?

The only advantage of them is easier fitting when the gearbox is in the car.
And disposable filter.

If the box is out the car I can't see the point in spending more money for something that is more likely to leak. Some dont even have a Drain plug
