Total Power Loss on Motorway - L3 Manual SE Diesel

Complete loss of power, luckily nearly halfway into exit. The disco had to be towed away and I am told the entire clutch will be replaced under warranty. Disco is 9 mths old.

Has anyone heard of this before? This was definitely a life threatning situation and not having a "crawl away" possibilty was a big drawback.

Last August I could smell the clutch. Software corrected the smell. I was told that D3 is not ideal in the manual version (??)

I would appreciate any help on understanding what happened.

There were issues with clutch's on some early builds (a weakness somewhere). Was asked by my dealer if I'd noticed any slippage / smell especially when off road.

57K and mine is OK. Been driven hard at times and also off road too and had to slip the clutch when required.

From what I hear there were issues with some. But the clutch fitted is doing the job it was designed to do.

Don't think we've had a failure on the forum ASAIK
