LR USA have redesigned parts of their site - the LR3 has a Flash page now which you can't link to.
However, the towing equipment for the RRS is identical;
http://www.landroverusa.com/us/en/Vehicles...lockLink_6
Quite a few people here have had the US receivers for a while. Any LR dealer can order them normally like any other part. I think US towballs are slightly smaller than UK ones, so best to source that locally I'd say.
You can buy any variety of towbars to go into the receiver with every possible combination of heights - you can use one either way up - e.g. maybe 2 inch raise, 1 inch drop depending on which way round it is.
Also, you can get loads of other stuff to go into the receivers such as racks, platforms, luggage boxes, tool boxes, etc - far better than putting something onto a towball imho. IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver

Thanks Brendan - couldn't find the right link.
I did pull this from another thread (thanks DG):
You can get the US hitch from here

Part # VUB504010
(Requires accessory # KNB500023.)

The receiver, KNB500023 was around €235 (euro) last year anyway.
VUB504010 (and I see now it contains several different sized balls, so I guess one of them is the right size) was €216.
However you don't need the second part. If you go into any auto place in the US, you can pick up the towbar with the exact rise/drop you want for a fraction of that cost. I got one in Pep Boys for $35 I think. You then just need to get a ball to go into it, around $20 I think. IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver

Thanks BKehoe. Is the actual ball height from ground higher than with just the normal removable towbar?
Seems to offer the best of both worlds. Bodsys Brake Bible

Ball height depends on the towbar (or ball mount kits as they're known) selected.
Take a look at http://www.reese-hitches.com/class_III_IV_ball_mounts_R.htm
You'll see that most allow you to use them for rising and dropping the towball height.
You really want a Class IV one (scroll to the bottom of the page), as the class III ones are only rated to 2700KG and you can in theory tow up to 3500KG with the D3. The Class IV ones are rated to 4500KG.
I think you need one with a 2 inch rise to roughly match the removable towhitch (remember that the ball will sit higher then the actual bar as it sits on top of it). IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
