A Tow in the Snow
Went out this morning to get the papers from the town - about 4 miles away on country lanes. Driving in 6" snow on Vredensteins a great experience.
As I hit town, I saw an ambulance with his blues and twos going stuck at the lights on gradient. Hitched him up to the D4 and towed him to flat ground and off he went to his 'shout". Job done and home for breakfast. We have our uses.

i'll second that bali blue disco 4 with rear dvd's, privacy glass, pre heat system, heated steering wheel, full size spare, piano black trim, ipod cable, 20 inch wheels and i love it loads more than my TDV8 RRS, KTM 250 EXC 2 Stroke for the real off road stuff
This is all true, but we all know that although everyone really appreciates 4x4's in the winter and its bad, but come the summer, they will all have forgotten and we will be pilloried again Mark.

top effort. I think I can top that though? Driving in the snow today when I went past a load of cars stuck behind a national express coach marooned halfway up this snow covered hill. Stopped in my HSE, attached tow rope, engaged ice & snow mode + low range and towed it up the hill no probs. On road tyres!! This car is truly unbelievable!! Discovery 3, 56.

Just got home after doing a shopping trip for the elderly neighbours in my street.
No cars going anywhere around here still. Too steep & too deep.
On the way home, towed out a very optomistic Volvo driver & then a really determined Mondeo chap.
I am getting more confident with the Discovery 3's capability in the snow. It still can't match the Defender with mud terrain tyres, but I can't grumble, good heater & creature comforts etc.
I stopped to offer the old bill some assistance as they were putting up road closed signs on the main road (Friday evening).
A simple push got them going but they were very grateful for the offer.
Not planning to go out again cos the cold water tank has frozen in the loft............................Mitsubishi Outlander Phev 4H 2018.

My good deeds of the day was pulling an old P38 up my street, so now I can say I pulled a Range Rover... although I doubt I could do It to a L322. Funny thing being his wife just bought a brand spanking new Range Rover. Then while driving home I pulled out a middle class toff in his very capable XC90 trying to get up a tiny hill out of Tesco's Some people need to get proper 4x4's instead of big cars saying they're 4 wheels drives.2011 RRS 3.0 TDV6 HSE - Fuji White - Due 30th July
I need to get some tow rope , what and where ? Type thickness hook ? Info please , people j
Keep looking at me, helplessly , as I drive by .2008 ,hse, it does what it says .
