| Tow Trust tow bar fitting help |

Hello,
Just trying to fit a fixed tow trust tow bar. (TL1) after reading good reviews on here.
Stuck on the first hurdle.. The main body does not seem to go far enough up into the reciever to allow the pin to go through the hole, it is very close, but even with tapping of the pin and up on the frame, it does not allow the pin to spring through
Has anyone else experienced this or has it gone smoothly?

I've fitted a couple of those.
On my own I had to make sure the slot was completely clean, give the fitting a tap then undo the allen bolt slightly and give it a tap,undo a bit more and repeat.I actually took it in and out a few times
Eventually it went in and it's good and tight which is exactly what you want.
It does look like you should be able to fit it and take the bolt out the pin will pop in, they are supposed to be tight .
I put waxoyl on mine which helped lube the pin. IID PRO

I fitted mine last month with no issues. My receiver was clean and I gave the insert a light smear of copper grease and it went straight in with light taps. I agree it seems tighter than the LR removable one and more secure even without the side supports.
I had a little problem with the tubes that fit inside the chassis arms in that they seemed too long and the bolt was at a slight angle but i assembled everything loosely, when It came to the last bolts between the side supports and the receiver I found that a trolley jack under the arms helped to line things up. This meant that the bolts went in without cross threading.
Persevere its worth it. just towed 2000 miles in France and not one clunk or rattle from the hitch. Currently 2015 D4 SE Tech, Corris Grey
