I managed to damage the plastic cover that covers the towbar electrics on the rear bumper. I contact my dealer to be told that I could only order it as part of the towbar at the cost of a few hundred pounds. I contacted LRCS who confirmed that this was the case because the logistics company that LR use would only supply whole kits and not individual parts, furthermore this is the case wrt other items, eg, wing mirror parts can only be supplied as part of a whole mirror. I am not prepared to pay a few hundred pounds for a piece of plastic costing no more than a few pounds to be produced, does anyone have any bright ideas as to how I might come by a spare (other than raid the local showroom vehicles) or can give me any contacts in the motoring press who would be interested in LR's lack of sensible spares support for their vehicles? I take it you mean the black rectangular cover which hides the whole electrics bits, rather than the round plug covers which hide the individual sockets?
In which case, I agree it would be tempting to take a quiet wander around the dealership vehicles with a suitable thingy to unscrew...
I think the dealer is talking absolute b@!!@cks here about the supply issue.
I could understand if you were trying to source one part off the electrics kit, but (as I understand it) you are trying to source a bit of bumper, which is supplied with every vehicle regardless of whether they have the towing electrics or not. Hence nothing to do with supplying as part of an electrics 'kit'! Discovery 3 tdv6 7 seat Buckingham Blue

It's part of the bumper not the electrics, you still have it even if you haven't got them
Ask them to quote for/order part no. DPO500011PCL, should cost about £6 + VAT The End
