Towbar recall

My D3 went in for some recall work yesterday. P017 - which I knew about and "the towbar" which I didn't know about.

I have a multi-height towbar - brand new, as it happens.

I've never seen any reference to a towbar recall, but apparently, it's something to do with the "thickness of the plate"

Does anybody know anything about this?

the early ones had a flat "drop" plate (the bit that lets you take the towball lower than the actual bracket). The later ones, post recall, have two "wings", bent bits on either side of the drop plate. I've never used that part of mine, as i have the towball bolted into the lower set of holes in the actual bracket.

Thanks Al.

Isn't software wonderful? The towbar has only been fitted for a fortnight, by a LR dealer, yet the next time the registration number is entered in the LR computer, it flags that a 3 year recall needs doing!

I've not got round to towing with mine yet as the torquewrench is buried in the shed somewhere! I'm undecided about whether to use the drop plate or not. It does offer protection to the rear end (and the spare wheel) in case I'm ignorant of where the back end is..
