Towing a lorry

Its been digging down with Snow in Aberdeen Very Happy Left home this morn for work was diverted at Anderson Drive due to stuck traffic on the hill Rolling Eyes Got to the nxt junction on the diversion to find a M&S lorry stuck on the incline thus blocking the diversion route, good police planning Rolling Eyes

Anyway squeeze past and ask if he would like a tow onto the flat 8) He says that my Disco wouldn't pull his lorry as its full of food for crimbo and its 44 Ton Shocked

Anyway lets have a go i thought Smile Got the Tunisia recovery rope out,the short one Derek Whistle ,and hook up to his rig.Selected GGS low box 2nd gear and pulled him onto the flat, the car "danced" a bit but done it Mr. Green

Driver got out his cab and said "that was F Censored g amazing" Laughing Laughing

Must admit it was what a car Thumbs Up

Nice find Pete that shows the conditions well Thumbs Up

Tyres are AT2s the road was a mix of compacted snow on top of ice breaking up in places.

We are now sending home our "countryside" staff home, local radio says the city is gridlocked on all approaches.abandoned vehicles and stuck lorry all over.

I am not being sent home as i have a D3 and can get home easily Big Cry

No photos sorry, the traffic scotland live eye view of the A90 looks good Laughing

No free turkey Derek Wink

Ah but Rescue01 pulled the truck up the hill, the Scooby was on the flat, in India they've got women who can pull trucks with their hair (admittedly it was in Bhopal so the chemicals in the air might have made her a mutant with super strength) Very Happy Rimini Red

Do you guys use snatch-straps (my Ozzie history) for that kind of tow or straightforward tow strops. Where do you get such things in this country?
 2016 D4 Landmark SDV6 (Euro6), Zanzibar (late run D4)
2009 D4 HSE TDV6, Bali blue (first run D4)
2007 RRS TDV8 HSE, some blue

The newspapers should have wrote:
There are 4x4s, and there are Marks and Spencers 4x4s. Discovery 3, bringing you Christmas one lorry at a time.
 Dr. Ian Malcolm:
"Yeah, but your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should."
Transgenic tomato anyone?
