Towing a motorcycle trailer.....

Well,

An '07 plate TDV6 SE, e-bay'd a quick-release tow-bar, and 13-pin electrics from TLO (Yeovil Land Rover).

All easily fitted, and a 'Motolug' 'bike trailer easily assembled, no problems with the rear parking sensors & towing fine, although being such a short 'rig' a b Censored d to reverse!!!

Anyway, posted this JIC (Just In Case) anyone was wondering...... Very Happy

Is it really easy to fit the electrics?

Yes, very straight forward - follow the instructions that come in the box Rolling Eyes

There were a couple of tricky bits - threading the new wiring loom along the back of the chassis, and into the area behind the near-side rear light cluster (which needs to come out anyway) - there are three block-connectors, so a bit fiddly, but only takes about ten minutes to fit the 13-pin socket & route the loom.

The other tricky part was fitting the second section of the new 'loom, which goes in the cubby on the left-hand side of the load space, same place the detachable tow-bar goes. It wasn't really tricky as such, just awkward as you have to sit on the tail-gate to get in there and connect a couple of connectors and locate the fuse-box.

I reckon about half an hour start to finish, it took another 30 minutes to fit the detachable tow bar 'cubby'...... I haven't got rear air-con, but it was still a tight fit. You can mostly ignore the instructions and follow your instinct, the carpet is already serrated so tears out with a little persuasion - again, a pretty tight fit - but it does go!

hope this helps,

FL
