Hello All,
I've got TPMS on my D4 and it has started moaning about "check the spare wheel tyre pressure". I've done that and it was at 31psi. I've increased this to 36psi but it is still showing the error. Is there anything I can do to tell TPMS that the pressure is OK?
I've done a lot of miles since this started showing up so it's had plenty of time to reset itself. The spare hasn't been on the car since I've had it but this error has only shown up in the last few weeks. It is a regular occurance (each ignition cycle) so not an intermittent fault.
Is it just a case of taking it to the stealers?

Have you made certain the spare is at a higher psi than the road wheels? I seem to recall it has to be at least 4psi higher than the others.

Thanks Ecosse, I haven't checked this but I will. Given that the rears are supposed to be 36psi, that means going up to at least 40psi on the spare. That seems quite high though.
Maybe I've seen too many internet video's of people blowing up (exploding) tyres?

Spare definitely needs to be more than 40 to satisfy the TPMS

I expect the idea is to ensure that the spare tyre pressure is above the highest pressure that you might have a rear tyre at on a fully laden vehicle, as it might be needed to replace any road wheel (& it's easier to deflate than to inflate when doing an emergency tyre change!).

So, I went to put more air in the spare and guess what.....
TPMS was happy that it was not low on pressure any more. 
I didn't even get off the drive to go to the garage. The spare has about 36psi.
I'll just have to keep an eye on it and see how it goes....

Anyone know the position of the Spare Wheel TPMS receiver in relation to the wheel? I.e. if you view the wheel as a clock face from the top with the front being 12 O'clock and the rear 6 O'clock where approximately is the TPMS sensor located?

the wheel TPMS sensor is basically the valve with the sensor attached inside TLO has left the building.......
