Trailer electrics

My trailer electric socket is not working properly. (The one on my D3)
I put the tester on it and it showed both indicators not connected.
So I bought a new plug and fitted it.
Same result.
"OK" I thought, took the plug off and rewired it making sure (doubly sure!) I had the numbers in, the right way about.
Same result.
Grrrrrr
Any ideas before I take it off to Inverness 4x4?

Have you checked the fuses behind the left side boot panel?
Are you using genuine LR looms?
Check the cable where it goes behind the swinging damper weights.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Humm..

The trailer indicators aren't fused at the rear, they come straight from the CJB (behind glovebox) and dedicated wires for trailer.

You have a 2005 model ?

As said, check you have a feed near the rear left light.
Also there is a 3 pin plug on the outside, below the light. I would suspect that

I had a similar issue last week. Using a multi meter at the trailer lights I found the side lights were not getting any power. Checked again at the Discos trailer plug socket and sure enough no power for the side lights. The issue was a blown 5amp fuse behind the rear passenger side light (cant miss it there are 5 in a row there). Swapped for new fuse and all is well Thumbs Up
