Trailer electrics not working!? |
|
Hi Guys
Ive got a bit of a pickle, My D3 is having temperamental trailer lights. All fuses are ok and work but the side lights and tail lights wont work, brake lights are ok and the left indicator are ok but the right is intermittent.
I know its to do with the disco as my defender gets all the lights working. Just wondering if it could be fixed with a bit of diagnostics.?
Cheers

Stick a multi meter in the pins, either black lead to chassis earth or pref to socket earth, pin 3 as you look at the socket, bout the 7oclock position, its the white wire, the turn lights on and test for power, between that and pin 7 (centre) and pin 5 (4 oclock)i would guess the cable is damaged poss on harmonic weights or possible where they plug into d3 electrics ( in one of the cubby holes)?.
hope this helps.

I know you said fuses OK, just wondered if you'd also checked the towing electrics dedicated fuses too - in case you didn't know, they're in the LH rear compartment, not in the fuse box?
While you're there you could check that two towing loom connectors are both still firmly clipped into the car's loom (tucked up behind the fuse strip)
Apologies if you know this already... ____

Yup, just checked them and they are all fine. Im pretty sure ive narrowed it down to the loom for the socket. A lil bit of a jiggle and the right hand side indicator comes on but still nothing with the tail and side lights. where theres a wil theres a way!
