Up until last couple of months this fault has been sporadic first occuring boxing day 2008 but is now constant. Every time i enter 6th gear (even when at a standstill and moving the lever between gears) the transmission fault flags up followed by E in the gear selected window then amber park brake fault ,loss of cruise control reverse lights and most probably rear park assist. Now i have tried 'x-y' callibration a number of times but on entering 6th the same fault always flags up.
While at main dealers for another reason spoke quickly to a Tech and he mentioned clutch going but i have no symptoms of clutch failure no smell,slipping or gear selection difficulty so bearing all this in mind has anyone any ideas, hopefully a cheaper fix than a new clutch.
