Transmission Fault (F): Limited Gears Available
In normal condition this never happened
However, when offroad and climbing the hill
Sometime its coming and the car looks loosing power.
However by simply by restarting the car, its gone and all normal again
When off road (on sand), I always put sand mode, DSC off, engage manual/sport mode (choose between 1,2, or gear 3)
Sometime I engage low gear on some condition
Any ideas for this transmission fault?

Below are the error I received using tools OBD II
Is it simply because of low transmission oil level? Any advise is welcome

Fail codes
HI, previously i have had same problems . Solution was simply - change crank shaft.
All fails was in case of different rate of tern between differential and gearbox.
Sorry for mistakes , im from Russia.

My guess is the trans is overheating (especially common in sand!) and going into limp mode to protect itself.
Things I'd look at:
-Trans fluid level and condition
-Make sure the cooler is clean and not plugged up17 Discovery 5 HSE Si6, Fuji White on brown | 07 LR3 SE 4.4 Java Black on Alpaca

change crank shaft?
I dont see any error related with that, is it a kind of guessing? if not what could be the error from ECU?
I check the tranmission oil level this morning and it's over fill more than 1 L, I remove it with correct level now, hopefully it will solve the problem
Thanks all for your input, much appreciated

I had my transmission rebuilt almost 12 months ago at a cost of over EUR2000.
On one occasion while climbing a steep hill, the F transmisson failure fault appeared. I turned off and turned on the engine again. The problem Disappeared.
My mechanic spotted the exact same problem when he drove the vehicle recently.
I brought it back to the gearbox center where they rebuilt my transmission 12 months previously.
They stated that the fault was caused as a consequence of other factors. E.g. EGR fault. I stated I had my EGR valve removed and capped.
They stated the transmission oil was black i.e suggesting that human factors like coasting in neutral may have caused excessive wear. I assume this indicates a lot of friction. I stated I did not drive on neutral.
I wonder has anyone else had the same difficulties of having their transmission rebuilt only for it to bring up problems down the line.
I was lucky to have my mechanic spot the problem within warranty. I have to fight them all the way if they try to avoid fixing within warranty.
As a general rule of thumb, I would suggest checking the vehicle for any faults before the warranty expires. you could use your own OBD handheld device to check this.
I just missed my ferry to Cornwall. Such a shame as I was looking forward to the atmosphere of next England game!
Did you hear the one about the Irishman cheering on England in the world cup......

Fault Errors
Following on from a previous post, I appended
The screenshot of the faults.
In summary:
Its stating gear ratio fault and also lost communication with engine control module.
My mechanic believes it may have been as a consequence of the transmission.
I had it rebuilt Just under 12 months previous, as stated, and it's within warranty.
I got the same F faults on climbing steep hills.
Very very little mileage less than a few thousand kilometers.
