Transmission fault warning

Hello Folks

My D3 had its 15k service earlier this week. Immediately after starting her up I got a transmission fault warning and terrain response was deactivated. Has been at the dealers for 2 days now and they seem to be no further forward. I wouldn't mind but the car has been faultless until now.

Dealer did say that it may be their computer that is at fault.....anyone else had this problem?

Transmission fault warning- update

Hello Again folks....just had a call from the dealer and the transmission ECU is knackered and will need replacing. Have to drive a Censored Freelander (old one) for another few days!

Anyone had an ECU crap out on them before??

sounds like they corrupted it whilst it was plugged in to their diags. sometimes low battery voltage can do this (which is why they should have a battery charger connected when carrying out any diags or s/w downloads) Should be an easy fix though

Jacob,
I think your situation is different - maybe water ingress into a connector or the gear position switch

TFC, THKS, now tht u mentioned some time when in cold, i put the gear on
(D) frm (P), and some time the car is like in (N) press the gas but
the revol going up but no move ..like when in (N)..

i try a couple of time with more agressive press on the swift lever and
it is o.k.

p.s: also when this happening the display is showing nthing,
i mean no D or N or anything else is blank.

Confused

thks/regards
jacob

OK, now we're getting somewhere - get the cable linkage checked, a few have been reported as loose on the pinch bolt on the side of the gearbox maybe it's just loose enough for the cold weather to cause enough torque relaxation for the cable position to slip?
