Sorry to hear things turned bad again Slips, hope it gets better & you get back on track.

Are you thinking of doing a Road Trip? I did a drive from UK to Athens than round Southern Greece a good few years ago. I didn't go via E Europe as the Balkan wars were pretty recent and the former Eastern Block countries were an unknown for us. I did it down to Mulhouse, across the Alps & down though Italy to Ancona (or Brindisi further down), Ferry to Igounimitsa or Patras then across to Athens. If you are after a great place to explore with lots of heat, beaches & scenery then Pelponenese is fab. You can then head up to N Greece then up to Turkey & Istanbul.

Now tell the truth, you just want a few nights with those nurses looking after your every whim!! Careful, you may end up with Nurse Gladis. Laughing

But seriously, that sounds really bad and glad you're in a place that can look after you, 3 ltrs is a lot!! Shocked

Re trip, sounds similar to my road trip to North Cape last year. Two weeks of just me, the music, fantastic views through the windscreen and great wild camping. I did think of heading south & east but really wanted to see N Norway again. Thumbs Up

Sorry to hear you are in hospital Steve - I trust all proceeds well.

I drove overland to Greece in mid-December last year.

I went from Ancona to Patras. If you are contemplating this there is an excellent hotel close to Ancona:-

VILLA CORALIA
via Abbadia 26, 60027 Osimo

It's on the top of a hill about 12 kilometres away from Ancona, and only 5 km from the Ancona Sud-Osimo exit of the A14 motorway.

It's a really nice, new country hotel - well worth staying there to recharge your batteries after the drive through France & Italy.

Secure private parking, free WiFi, swimming pool, excellent location & food what more could one want?

Have a look at the photographs & prices:-

http://www.villacoralia.it/en/contacts.html

More photos here:-

https://www.alpharooms.com/villa_coralia_c...osimo.aspx

I shall be going back there soon, and will stay more than one night next time.
