Trim missing from door??

Anybody else heard of this?

The trim along the bottom of the door has gone missing or fallen off Big Cry
When I went to order a new part, the dealer said that water builds up behind the trim and when it's frozen it pops the trim off the door. Crying or Very sad

Its going to be an expensive winter!

Not often heard of that one Whistle

They do come off easily though, especially if you are driving off road.
 Captain Nick Medhurst would ask:
"What is the first rule when overlanding?"

I would Reply:
"Duratrac"

It happened to me yesterday, but it happened after I just opened the passenger door to pull the bonnet handle , and when I closed the door, the build up off ice on the side steps, caught it and popped it off as the door was closing. Luckily since I was still outside the car, I seen it fall off, and was able to pick it up and will put it back on later.

If a passenger jumped into the car and closed the door in the same situation they wouldnt have know what happened and you would have driven off and lost the trim..................

Had mine pop off due to water pressure when off roading in deep water and kicked it off once when my boot caught it jumping out (don't ask...).

Short of sticking them on I don't see what else you can do but the idea of that much water building up so it pops off when frozen seems a bit far fetched - the water would drain into the door and out the drain holes.

If the drain holes were blocked you'd hear the water sloshing around and believe me you do hear it.
 I see no ships........
