Trip Counter

Only realised the other day the trip counter only goes to 999.9 then back to zero. Is this correct, seems a bit odd you can't run at least 1 of the trip counters higher ie a trip to Broome is 2500kms so it would zero 3 times!!!

This is true. Its a nuisance when configured for miles, must be a real pain when you use Kms.

Discodownunder,

Didn't anyone tell you the D3 is for the soccer mums and the shopping trolley. It was designed for travels of only a few kms.

Hence the small tank and the frequent breakdowns Laughing

Sorry couldn't help myself. Just very cynical about my D3 at the moment.

Silly question on this subject - the little trip counter under the odometer is reset using the push button under it - how do you reset the Trip counter on the information display

Push and Hold the "i" button down on the indicator stork for a few seconds and the display will reset to "---"

Cheers!

Fun to do... wait until you're on a good long down hill stretch, then press the 'i' button to rest everything whilst on av/mpg and behold 999.99mpg!

Embarassed Actually, I've NO idea why this is fun?

I used to do it on the last one - it had a continuous MPG so you could just coast and it would reach 999 without you having to press anything at all - never got a phot though! Wink Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)
