TURBO!!! and poor service.

Last Friday night my disco3 made a 'pop' sound and lost all power whilst in Yorshire (in the snow!)....anyway to cut a long story, involving an 8 and half hour recovery trip...Team Valley Land Rover have determined that the turbo needs replacement.

Shocking enough on a 3 and half year old vehicle with less than 100k miles and typically outside of waranty, but after a week I'm still without my car and Team Valley Lander Rover tell me they can't get parts as the delivery company (land rover parts) are not delivering due to the bad weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mad Mad Mad Mad

So here in Northumberland we have a reasonable amount of snow, I thought I owned a reliable capable vehicle that would get me to work no matter what (work for the emergency services) and insted my wife is taking me to work in her Kia Sportage....

What on earth are Land Rover playing at, my suggestion was take a Land Rover and get the parts!! Mad

Now a very very unhappy Disco3 owner and seriously considering a better more reliable 4x4.

I have to say, I have never used them, but Team Valley have previously had some very good feedback from others, and I am very suprised that you think the fact that a turbo is not obtainable equates to bad service by them. There would be no point in risking life and limb to send a Land Rover to pick up a turbo from wherever, especially when it is likely that the problem lies further up the supply chain. The weather is bad, everyone is affected. and we all have to do the best we can.

As far as your car goes, it is not good at all that a turbo fails at such low miles. The 'pop and power loss' sound puzzles me, because I would be wanting to check the turbo pipes and intercooler for a burst or split. I presume Team Valley have checked this before condemning the turbo?

Should point out that my 'poor service' is not from Team Valley Land Rover, they have been as efficient as always, I believe that my Disco is sat waiting for the new turbo to arrive.

It's poor service from LAND ROVER and thier PARTS DELIVERY SERVICE.

Poor reliability from their product and poor backup.

It won't be Land Rover it's Norbert their logistics supplier
you can bet Lr and Cat will he highly frustrated that deliveries are not getting through but if the depot the trinket is shipping through is closed or snowed in then the trucks can't move
I bet someone somewhere is being asked tge question why/when/how and will be doing all they can to get orders through
I was at a meeting yesterday where a guy from Glasgow came and because tge motherwell hub was closed has not had orders or stock through in 3 days
 TLO has left the building.......
I no longer work for a Landrover Dealer
