A general lack of power, or EML on 07MY>on is more than likely an EGR valve, or both playing up. I have never seen a faulty EGR bring up Engine System Fault on a TDV6...
Engine System Fault on the message display, is more than likely a failed Turbo.
However, IIIRC, P0299 will also bring on ESF on the dash, and is related to low fuel pressure, more often than not, caused by a blocked fuel filter
Personally, change the filter first and see what happens.
If you get the fault codes P0132 or P0234, they both relate to a faulty turbo My D3 Build Thread
