Turbo Replacement.Advice needed
Hi.
After my D3 went into limp mode it produced fault code P132b,indicating a problem with boost control. The dealer recommend replacing the turbo. The people that I have my motorplan with wants to inspect the turbo before authorizing the replacement.
My question is what can the assessor see on the turbo to base his jugement on?Are there any tests that he can do on the turbo, that is stripped out of the vehicle? Is the turbo not sealed? How can he test the actuator outside the vehicle?
I need some advise before I face this guy.Any advise appreciated.

It is easy to get at the control arm to see if that is siezed you can also easily get to the turbo itself to see if it is stiff or has any excessive play, here are some photos of my old one, hope they help a bit

Frans sorry to hear of your trouble, as explained by many if actuator is stuck before LTO's post on acurator fix the whole turbo had to be replaced, remember even if you change the actuator the turbo has to be calibrated interms of variable vains, therefore whole turbo has to be replaced due to only Gareth the manufacturer can calibrate the turbo( according to LR technician )! So motorplan has to pay for new turbo!See my gallery for photo of how little corotion can cause the actuator linkage to seize!A few mods... and keeping it all running...Faultmate MSV2
