Type L locking wheel nut key anyone??
Hi all
I have come to replace the discs & pads all round today on my D4 & the locking wheel nut adapter/key has failed, the ‘ring’ on the inside is just spinning inside the adapter. I cslled the AA out as I thought they will be able to remove the remaining locking nuts for me with their kit but no joy, apparently they dont work on these nuts?
He also managed to knacker up the internal ring of the adapter whilst trying different things to get the wheel off so bang goes any chance of re-bonding the ring to the adapter.
This leaves me in a position where I cant use the car and LR stealerships are closed until tuesday so cant buy a replacement key
Does anyone have a type L locking wheel nut adapter I can borrow to get me out of the proverbial brown stuff so I can get these locking nuts out, throw them as far as I can and replace with standard ones? I will return the key straight away
I live in Norton Canes near cannock but happy to travel a reasonable distance to collect/return
Would be a MASSIVE help!!
Cheers I have my fingers crossed!

Cheers Narpy,
yeah I have seen these on the bay and also the stealers will be back open tomorrow, was just hoping some kind soul would lend me theirs so I can get the brakes finished and the car back on the road today. Also have no intention of refitting the locks so once off I will not need a key.
Its looking like I might have to order a key and hire a car to get me back on the road in the meantime but I live in hope! haha

Try your local tyre fitters, they have tools for this sort of thing

I drilled the centre out and hammered a large torx bit in when the same thing happened to mine. Managed to get all four off the same way
