if your wife is a typical czech, she will be very sensitive to this argument.
once you have her green light to buy your own magnificent Niva, start hesitating again and explaining why you will regret all your life having bought the niva instead of the d3.
it might bring you closer to your d3! 
Of course, if you want to travel through lipno, a lada seems to be a better choice.
Remember, it's a great time for discounts on new cars. But not in CR. Here the "premium" brands believe that they are untouched by the crisis and that they will maximise their profit by maximizing their profit per car. Not the total profit for the total number of cars. Some people get by
