Uneven Front Tyre Wear???

Hi, my 2007 Disco has a 2 inch 'band' of wear on the outer edge of the front near-side tyre, the rest of the tyre tread is OK as is the tread of the off-side front tyre. The dealers have checked wheel allignment and the rest of the suspension/steering etc, and report no problems. The vehicle has covered 23,000 miles, this particular set of tyres (Goodyear Wranglers) have covered approx 11,000 miles) This wear pattern was not apparent on the first set of tyres. Any ideas guys? forgive me if this topic has already been covered somewhere.

Same happened on mine - tracking was out
I've got a mate that runs an ATS depot - he reckons that because speed bumps / pot holes ect don't feel as bad in inferior cars we don't get tracking checked enough - he reckons min every 6 months - not trying to drum up business - he doesn't charge for it

Thanks Adam, I'm going to have to get a couple of new tyres fitted soon because of this problem, I'll get the tracking checked more frequently, but the dealers are telling me that everything is OK, and the guys who fitted the tyres don't seem to think that its a tracking problem. But I'm open minded and will certainly bear in mind what you have said, many thanks. JM.

Have a look at the threads on four wheel alignment. I had similar problems with uneven tyre wear.

Many thanks for the suggestions and advice guys, it looks LIKE another trip back to the dealers for an alignment check, I will report on the outcome.

I am getting consistently uneven tyre wear on the inside of my fronts. I had it checked and reset a few weeks back. The guys at ProTyre said it was way out of tolerance and re-adjusted tracking and camber, but the problem persists. Any suggestions? I have had tracking redone 3 times in the last 6 months and wore out a set of tyres and have worked half way through the next set already. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Most wear occurs on the drivers side front inner.

i heard something about bush creep, if the upper/lower bushes are knacked in the wishbones, or top hub bush could be crook aswell, i'm looking at a full set of poly bushes to be fitted very soon, thats if your 4/wheel alignment has been done already and it still persist's...... hope this helps Thumbs Up
