Hi. Did you do the update? I have a 2014 car also and have been considering the map update. Does anyone know how you see what version of maps is installed?

Early D4s (59/60) can only be done through a dealer as you need the correct connection to the HDD - had my 60 plate done about 4 years back.
LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF

Oh dear........I didn't really want to have to go to a main dealer ££££££. I might drop Stratsone Nottingham an email for a price.

I think you confused the vehicle model year and map update year Thumbs Up

Indeed, on D3 you can get a unofficial “backup” (as they’re sometimes also advertised) on DVD from various places and it is enough to replace the disk in the drive.

Last official D3 map was 2012, for D4 the current map set is from 2017. Not sure how many years they’re doing them, my guess is ... not many. IIRC there was an announcement regarding that sometime back but I can’t find it right now.

In practice Google maps, Apple maps or Waze will beat the LR nav hands down. Thumbs Up
