updates ?

plugged the iiD into the car earlier to reset Service warning as I had it done last week and whilst piddling about in the menus, as you do, I saw that there were several ECUs that said "update available" or similar.

Is there a list of the updates and indication of their benefits/urgency ? are they updates for the iiD to improve it's accuracy/functionality or do they update the ECUs to improve their performance ?

That are LR ECU firmware updates..

But not necessarily always “upgrades” as in “they make things definitely better”

Sometimes they do, BUT they can also cause troubles who weren’t there with the existing older firmware..

General rule is; if there isn’t a problem, don’t update…on the important stuff like autoboxes etc.

I do not know the existence of a list of all firmware for the ecu’s,, would be worthwhile

You need to pay a fee to GAP to get them enabled (each) on your IDD so you can update the ecu’s
 Best regards
