Not sure if you can with the hidden winch i know a few have fitted an RS500 intercooler but that will not fit with your winch as it takes up a lot or room where the upgraded intercooler would go Thumbs Up

I ran an Alisport IC for over 10 years. Great piece of kit but use it with a decent remap. Thumbs Up

Is there that much benefit to be had uprating the intercooler? It’s not like the D3 responds to ragging around and off road it’s using its torque but at lowish revs?

There are some logs on the forum I done of before and after fitting an RS500 cooler

Made quite a difference to boost temperatures, especially around town Thumbs Up

I had the Allisport 'Fast Road' intercooler on my old D3 and it did make a difference, not a huge one but on balance a worthwhile difference. Mind you it also had a Bell Auto's re-map and a de cat pipe so maybe it was the combined effect.

A standard fixed turbo works where we want it most. Mainly midrange normally, but.... with the adjustable vanes Turbo our D3’s have it works also in the lower rev ranges.
turbo’s themselves work on kinetic energy (hot by itself)(They do not work on presure by the way) and when it works, it compresses The inlet air, so that air becomes even hotter...
so cooling that air, (After compression) always makes de density of the inlet air higher, therefore the cooler the better (=more air) and that will be very notable when driving.... just gives the feel of more air (and it is)

Standard tuning procedures on a turbo engine, first bigger intercooler, second bigger downpipe, (so let is better breathe all together) and then third different mapping To get the max from that gain
 Best regards
Harold
